Job Context This leadership role is responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and overall management of the organization's database systems. The position ensures secure, stable, and high-performing databases (including replication sites) while aligning IT strategy with business goals, compliance requirements, and data security standards.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive database strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the architecture, design, and maintenance of enterprise databases (Oracle RAC & Dataguard, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB).
• Implement and enforce database security features such as TDE, Masking, Redaction, and Auditing to comply with standards like ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS.
• Manage database operations including installing, upgrading, patching, tuning, and troubleshooting across various platforms.
• Lead incident response and disaster recovery planning for database systems to ensure business continuity.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of database administrators.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and control departmental budgets.
• Continuously monitor database performance and availability to proactively resolve issues.
Educational Requirement & Age Limit
• MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent from a reputed university.
• Must not exceed 45 years of age at the time of application.
Professional Certification
• Mandatory: OCP in Oracle 12c (Oracle 19c preferred).
• Preferred: OCP in RAC, Dataguard & Performance Tuning; Certifications in Oracle Exadata, MySQL, or SQL Server are an added advantage.
• Advanced training on Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL is required.
Skill Requirement
• Deep expertise in Oracle database setup and configuration on Exadata.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle ADG, SQL Server AlwaysOn, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL (maintenance, replication & security).
• Proficiency in RMAN cloning, backup/recovery, and restoring databases across different environments with large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with database security features (TDE, Auditing) and compliance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux networking, IP configuration, and OS-related issues.
• Experience administering operating systems like Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris.
Experience Requirement
• Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in Enterprise Database Management, preferably in Banks, FIs, Telco, or Large Organizations with 3 years of experience in leadership position.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Dataguard, Performance Tuning, GoldenGate, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and SQL Server AlwaysOn.
• Project Experience: Proven track record of completing significant enterprise-level projects (e.g., 15–20 Oracle RAC/Dataguard and SQL Server AlwaysOn deployments).
• Experience in Hyperconverged Infrastructure, enterprise storage systems, and virtualization.
• Proven track record in local and foreign partner/OEM management and technical project execution.
